SlowReader's Kingdom

After I finished and loved “The Passage” by Justin Cronin I was in the mood for another book that would get my heart pumping. At my local library I found “The Strain”. I had seen this book before and I knew it was part of a series.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed by it. The story started out well. It was gripping and fast paced. But after some time the intensity got lost. I did not care for anyone.

Vampires were taking over NYC and I could not care less. I am not sure why. The characters were likeable and the story action-packed. I think it might be the writing that just could not hold my attention.

I listened to the whole book but I will not continue the series. I simply do not care about what is going to happen next. How disappointing.
