“Top 5 Non Young Adult Books” – Top 5 Wednesday

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult Nineteen Minutes - Jodi Picoult The Help - Kathryn Stockett Angels & Demons - Dan Brown Living Dead Girl - Elizabeth Scott

Top 5 Wednesday was created by gingerreadslainey. Check out her youtube channel! Basically, every Wednesday there is a chosen topic to which you list your top 5. If you want to join, have a look at the goodreads page!

I know I am a little (okay, a lot) late for this week’s Top 5 Wednesday but I was soooo busy this week. I was so happy when the weekend arrived because it was stressful nonstop. I thought of skipping this week’s Top 5 Wednesday but I really like the topic and I just wanted to do it (even though it’s Sunday). So here are my Top 5 Non Young Adult Books in no particular order:

1. The Kite Runner by Khaled Husseini

I loved that book, cried a lot. It just touched my heart.

2. My Sister’s Keeper and Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

I couldn’t decide which one I liked better and since both are by Jodi Picoult I decided to list them both. I love Picoult’s ideas. I’m not always convinced by the execution but in general I enjoy reading her books. These two books are my favorites at the moment. Sometimes her books have too much of a Hollywood ending (for example My Sister’s Keeper) but the way how she works with a certain topic is fantastic.

3. The Help by Kathryn Stockett

I read this book before the movie came out but after I had seen the trailer. Both book and movie are amazing and I would recommend them to everyone.

4. Angels & Demons by Dan Brown

I’m not big on reading criminal books but Dan Brown’s books are fantastic. My favorite is Angels & Demons. My father owns a special edition with all the paintings and sculptures printed inside. It makes it so much easier to read. I remember how I looked up many of the paintings when I first read it. The special edition was so much fun compared to that.

5. Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

This book was so disturbing. It’s scary and sad and horrible and cruel. The feelings I had while reading this book... It kept me thinking about it for month after I finished it. The most horrifying thing about this book is that nightmares like this happen in real life. And that’s what makes it even sadder and more disturbing.

What are your favorite Non YA books? Have you read any of these?
